Working My Way Back To You
For Riders and their Horses who want to be happy and relaxed together when they ride, to be able to manage their emotions when they need to and to learn a spiritual way of riding that will be a source of comfort/safety and connection for them both.
Working My Way Back To You is about reducing separation between you and your horse.
Working my way back to you is a play on words, because what keeps you separate from your horse is what keeps your separate from yourself. It's about reducing the layers that hide your true self from you.
It's about reducing the things that keep you separate, but it's also paradoxically about letting go of what binds you together negatively.
It's about you both becoming more relaxed and connected together, where you are both a source of safety and companionship for each other.
We're going to learn to work with your energy and your horse's energy too, to help you become more relaxed in general and to learn how to calm yourselves when you get anxious.
It's also about learning to ride connected to spiritual energies that will be a source of safety and connection for you both. That will connection you together and to the environment around you as well.
The more you ride and connect like this, the more free and relaxed and happy and connected you will both become. Your horse will be less anxious, and you will be too.
If you've had your horse a long time this will help you to become more connected.
Riding for both of you will be something to look forward to and not put off till the last minute or the end of the day.
Your emotions will be become smoother, less anxiety, or turing to anger or even dperession when things don't go as planned.
You'll become to feel more free, more spontaneous and less
hopeless and powerless and you're trapped into doing nothing.
Answer 1
when you can becom soldid yo become like a beacon for him tune iint he looks to you to feel safe you are his suppeort his anchor because he was scared shitlees before and now you cansave him, and in sacing hij you save yourself by getting rid of the shit that is torturing you. as you both return to each othe through each other.
You are thinking about going riding later on in the day, and all you are worried about are things like:
Will it be raining? - I’d better wear a coat."
Or
"Where will I go? I might go to the woods, or will the gate be locked?"
Little things like that, instead of secretly and silently being very afraid, every time you thought about your ride (and you probably thought about it a lot).
You can learn to use tools that you already have, your energy and your breath, and use them to go deep inside your body, and calm your fear of riding.
Then you will be able to make a real connection with your horse, and you will both be able to enjoy your time together, you and your horse.
I can show you how to do this, through ......the medium of ,,,
A little bit about me...
My name is Jenny Pim, I'm the Founder and Creator of Equestrian Tai Chi. I'm a Certified Tai Chi Instructor registered with the Tai Chi Union for Great Britain and a Certified Riding Coach registered with Horse Sport Ireland.
My passion is to bring what I learn from Tai Chi and Taoist Arts to help riders to develop and enhance their relationships with their horses, whether it be riding or in their ordinary day to day connections with them. To help them to become physically, energetically and emotionally balanced, so they can enjoy their time riding free from anxiety and fear and to develop the wonderful partnerships I know they can!
Feeling anxious riding is very common, there are a myriad of reasons why people feel afraid:
1. They've had a bad experience
Or they had a series of bad experiences and it's knocked their confidence. They may have had a bad fall, or a very bad fright.
2. They know someone who's had a fall
They've heard about someone, who's had a serious riding accident and it's constantly on their mind.
3. They have an injury or injuries
They're worried they might aggravate an old injury, or worse if they fell off.
4. They were over-horsed
They may have been riding a young nervous animal whose energy frightened them, or a horse that was too strong for them, or they may have been riding a badly schooled horse, whose behaviour they didn’t know how to correct.
5. They have become a parent
It's very common for people who have children to see danger everywhere. There's also the added responsibility of being a parent and worrying who would take care of their child if something should happen them.
6. They are getting older
It's natural to be worried about falling and being injured as we get older. Bones don’t mend as quickly and our reactions may not be as sharp as they were when we were younger. Also there's the worry of not being able to drive if they were injured, or not being able to work, or to meet financial commitments, or to take care of their family. There's also the worry of not being able to take care of their horse.
7. They just can’t pin it down to anything
Some people don’t know why they are afraid, it could be a combination of things, but nothing of significance. They just feel uneasy and anxious a lot of the time.
I often hear nervous riders being given advice like, ‘repeat a Mantra’, or ‘just breathe’.
People giving this advice may mean well, but a rider who is extremely frightened needs much more than this to calm their fear.
Most people know that deep breathing helps to calm fear, but if that was all it took, then nobody would be afraid when they were riding.
It is true that deep breathing is great for calming fear, but in reality, people are not able to sustain it for long, unless they practice it, and more importantly, unless they practice the right type of breathing.
Taking few deep breaths and then going back to being scared again is not contributing to lasting change. It is not going to give you the confidence in yourself, when you are going out for a ride, that you have the ability to control your fear.
I developed Taoist Breathing For Riding specifically to help riders manage their emotions riding. It takes into account that you're in continuous motion, and are in close contact with your horse, who will be affected by your breathing.
I have spent years developing the exercises that are compatible with riding and calming fear into a system, that gives people strategies for different types of situations.
I've been teaching Tai Chi professionally since 2002. I’m a Certified Instructor registered Tai Chi Instructor for The Tai Chi Union for Great Britain. My interests now lie in helping riders and their horses to develop a deeper partnership and to elevate their riding experience through the Taoist Arts I have adapted and developed for Riding.

Equestrian Tai Chi
Equestrian Tai Chi is a relaxing and stress relieving practice, that benefits both you and your horse. It opens and develops the energetic pathways in your body, so that your energy can travel through them. It helps you to bond and connect with your horse by giving you both a chance to enjoy time together, when you are not frightened.
It improves your balance and posture making you feel more stable and secure in the saddle. It helps you become less fearful. When you feel an emotion like fear very strongly, your energy becomes blocked and frozen. Equestrian Tai Chi encourages your energy to flow, and helps you let go of your fear.
Taoist Breathing For Riding
Taoist Breathing for Riding gives you the ability to focus your mind inside your body, and to consciously calm the places where it feels fear, using your energy and your breath.
Your practice of Equestrian Tai Chi opens and develops your energy channels, allowing you to send energy, to where you want it to go in your body. Once your body is relaxed, it’s positive energy will calm your emotions and thoughts.
Taoist Meditation to Manage Mindset & Emotions Riding
You will learn the ancient Taoist Method for finding and dissipating energy in our energy field that controls us without us knowing and that keeps us behaving in certain ways even though we don't want to. Much as we might long to have balanced emotions riding, if we have energy patterns locked into our system that are contrary to this, it becomes very difficult. Taoist Meditation to Manage Mindset & Emotions Riding will help you to find and let go of these, so you can be free to choose to successfully manage your fear with the Taoist Breathing for Riding and Equestrian Tai Chi Exercises.

Learn to Relax
When Sidney and I found each other, he had obviously been handled very roughly and had lots of issues and dramas going on.
I have been practicing the Tai Chi exercises and found that Sidney responds beautifully to the energy, he shows the classic signs of lowering his head and lots of chewing and sometimes yawning.
It has also relaxed me and helped me to increase my focus and awareness in a positive way.
I have been doing this next to him, before working him in hand, and also on his back before a ridden session, and am so pleased to see that he is noticeably more relaxed and displaying less fear and anxiety.
Thank you Jenny for opening this new pathway for us.”

Overcome lack of confidence
I am a rider overcoming lack of confidence issues. My mare Bailey had tendon problems and was off work for eight months or so. Well the idea of riding her for the very first time frightened me. But ‘everything for a reason’ I like to believe.
The forced time off her, allowed me to complete the four modules of this course. I had got into the habit of doing Equestrian Tai Chi practice in the field and in the stable. I also had got into the habit of doing the breathing exercises. I got a lot of practice in before I really needed it. The Equestrian Tai Chi Form is flowing now and not clunky as at first. It’s not like Jenny’s yet, but I’ll keep trying. I know The Form now without the videos, but it’s also good for me to re-watch the videos and find ways to refine the movements.
The very first ride on Bailey was the test for me. I worked her on the ground. I tacked her up. I mounted and I did the full Equestrian Tai Chi Form on her back for the first time! I finished and I asked her to walk on. We did a little walk and a trot and I was thrilled.
How I believe it works for me is:
It gives my mind something else to do, than worry about the ‘what if’s’. I realised that while doing the ‘something else to do’, that I didn’t die.
The reason being that the ‘something else’ was deliberately drawing breath into my body, relaxing my muscles and reducing my heart rate, and thereby calming my emotions and interrupting the fear story that gets rerun in my head.
The energy field that me and my horse share has been calmed. There is no need for Bailey to be worried or anxious, her herd members are calm, so she is. This leaves us both free to deal with the real issues, that can, and do arise, without wasting our energy on imagined ones.
Equestrian Tai Chi is not a quick fix, it is a health enhancing habit, that every horse rider needs to practice, especially important to anyone who suffers from anxiety. Thanks so much Jenny Pim.

We recently bought a high maintenance horse ...
I’ve had a nasty fall off my horse during a show and since then I feel like I’ve been walking on eggshells around him. But I followed your breathing exercises to calm myself down and I really feel like I’ve been able to focus on improving my riding when my mind is clear and free of any negative thoughts.
Thank you very much, your emails and Chi program are very helpful and beneficial.

Hughy is not nearly as spooky in the arena any more....
Hughy is not nearly as spooky in the arena any more. He will look with ears perked but he is not afraid to go anywhere in there. We did some more riding and then we practiced the Equestrian tai chi form again. He couldn’t wait to stop for the practice. I felt peaceful and also like my form is getting smoother.

Dear Jenny,
3 friends & I took our horses to Allegany State Park for a weekend camping trip. I was deathly afraid of how my boy would be considering the fact that taking him trail riding has always not been fun cause he would do everything possible to be the bad boy, therefore I was afraid!
I got on the saddle (while friend held him), did a couple of your breathing techniques & calmed myself down. And it worked!
We went on a 3 HR ride that was so much fun. He was so calm & very well behaved that he blew me & my friends out of the water! We ran up the hills, drank from the creek, meet people in cars driving by, he let kids rub his nose, walked past a barking puppy that was going nuts and so on! I have had my boy for 5 yrs now.
I've gone through 6 trainers in the past to help me to understand on what to do but nothing helped, until a friend sent you to me. I can honestly say you have helped me and I thank you so much. No more fear for me!
THANK YOU.

I treated myself to Jenny's course as I had become a very nervous rider since having my daughter in 2011.
My horse Baylee an Irish cob mare is mostly quiet and well behaved, but she is strong and gets a bit fresh and jumpy when I hack out on her. I used to feel myself tensing up and was always expecting the worst, which made Baylee even more jumpy as I was transferring my nervousness to her. In the end riding my horse became something I ended up trying to avoid.
Since following Jenny's programme, I have found so much benefit, as I am once again enjoying riding my horse! I am now much calmer and feel more relaxed and in control when I am riding. Baylee is also benefitting and has become a lot steadier and much less jumpy when we hack out. She enjoys me practicing the Tai Chi exercises on her and it has definitely strengthened out bond.
I highly recommend Jenny's Course to anyone who gets nervous or tense when riding, or even if you would just like to feel more connected with your horse.
Thank you Jenny for putting so much time and effort into making this excellent course.
