Jennifer Derksen, Certified Equestrian Tai Chi Instructor Level 1,
I have held an interest in Tai Chi for many years and had looked at Jenny Pim’s site www.equestriantaichi.com on a number of occasions in the past, but the timing was never quite right.
Fast forward to 2022 and I was searching online for a place to learn Tai Chi locally, when I again stumbled upon Jenny’s website. I read through all the information on her website about Equestrian Tai Chi, and everything resonated. I took the plunge and signed up for her instructor course – and am I ever glad I did!!
This course has been the ‘missing piece’ in my work with horses. I’ve always known the importance of sharing good energy with our horses, but how to find it can be very elusive. My coaching is based mainly on the teachings of Mary Wanless’s ‘Ride With Your Mind’ however, I have learned from many other mentors over the years and developed my own personal style of coaching. I have found that Equestrian Tai Chi ties all of my teachings up with a bow and is an excellent addition to what I can offer my students.
I have experienced first hand, how my own horses and those of my colleague’s react to this beautiful energy work and it truly does change our relationship with them for the better. They clearly enjoy this work as they mirror our own release of tension. Balance to the mind and body is restored for both horse and rider.
I look forward to adding this to my offerings to interested students and encourage anyone interested to seek out Jenny Pim or any instructor certified in her specialized form of Tai Chi which is designed specifically to benefit both horse and rider.
