Equestrian Tai Chi To Build Confidence Riding is an online program, designed for riders who have lost confidence riding. Perhaps some of the following apply to you, and your confidence has been knocked as a result:-
- You had an incident that frightened you, and you just can’t get back to feeling happy and relaxed on your horse again.
- You’ve returned to riding after a gap of a few years, and you can’t understand why you are so frightened now, you don’t remember having been like this before.
- You’ve had children, and suddenly you see danger everywhere.
- You feel a deep unease inside of you, and you feel anxious most of the time, for no explicable reason.
If we feel anxious or afraid, our horses can sense our anxiety, and this in turn makes them tense and fearful.
Equestrian Tai Chi teaches us to live in the present moment, it’s movements calm our emotions, restoring peace and harmony.
The Chi of the body affects the Chi of the mind.
Through the Equestrian Tai Chi exercises, and the Taoist Breathing exercises, you will learn how to understand the physiological changes, that fear brings to your body. You will learn how to change these physical symptoms of fear, so that your body becomes relaxed. When your body is relaxed, it’s calm energy will calm your mind.
Taoists have always concentrated on the body first and foremost. They theorise and practice, that once the body is feeling balanced and comfortable, the mind will naturally follow suit.
The programme teaches you coping mechanisms, of how to proactively deal with fear while you are riding. You will soon learn how to manage your fear. Your confidence will further increase, as you realise that you can develop your ability to manage your fear. The programme teaches you how to be calm, happy and relaxed on your horse.
Because you have an associated memory, of being happy and relaxed on your horse, through the practice of the exercises, your mind and body automatically slip back to the way they felt while you were practicing them. This gives both you and your horse a shared relevant memory.
The programme teaches you that you do not have to be at the mercy of your emotions, and be tossed about by them. It teaches you that your emotions have a strong physiological presence in your body, and if you can change this, you can change the content of the emotion.
*This is not a riding programme, or a horse training programme. If you need riding lessons or have a young, inexperienced, nervous animal, I would strongly suggest you use the services of a qualified riding instructor that empathises with you.
